The WNBA has had its fair share of memorable moments over the years. And one of the most thrilling highlights is when a team makes a stellar comeback to win the game and, oftentimes, the title. We’ve seen this happen quite a few times throughout the course of WNBA’s history. And unsurprisingly, the biggest comebacks often take place in the finals, where the teams are going all-in for a shot at the title.

The Lynx and Liberty's Dominance In Comeback History
History was made in the just concluded WNBA finals, where the Minnesota Lynx, who were down by 18 points, defeated the Liberty 95 – 93 during Game 1 of the finals.
New York Liberty eventually took home the trophy but delivered a stellar comeback of their own in Game 3, where they came up from 15 points behind against the Lynx to win the game.
The Liberty are no strangers to dramatic comebacks, as before now, their 1999 victory against the Houston Comets held the record for the largest comeback in a WNBA final with 18 points and a final score line of 68-67.
It just so happens that the Minnesota Lynx or New York Liberty have been involved in seven out of the nine biggest WNBA final comebacks.
Always A Surprise You Don't See Coming
If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that these come-from-behind victories are never easy to predict.
It’s hard to predict an upset and harder to forecast a comeback, especially one from such a large deficit as the Lynx vs the Liberty in Game 1 of the just concluded WNBA finals. However, Sportytrader offers expert picks and predictions on WNBA finals and matches throughout the season. Check out these forecasts to see what the pros have to say.
What makes a comeback that much more remarkable is when the losing team comes up from a huge deficit, closes the gap, and then surpasses their opponents on the scoreboard. No team has overcome a 20-point deficit, but the biggest comebacks have come pretty close.
