May 16, 1976 – The Montreal Canadiens win game four to sweep the Stanley Cup Finals. Habs skaters; Guy Lafleur and Pete Mahovlich each have a goal and 2 assists as the Canadiens outlasted the Philadelphia Flyers, 5-3 to claim Lord Stanley’s Cup.
This would start a run of four consecutive NHL Titles for the Montreal franchise under the coaching of Scotty Bowman. The Canadiens have won more Stanley Cup titles than any other team (24) and are the most successful franchise in league history.
