July 29, 1751 – It was a truly historic sports day in the world of boxing. The first international world title prize fight had England’s champion Jack Stack, outlasting his challenger Jean Petit of France in a 29 minutes battle in Stack’s home of Great Britain.
Stack had gained the boxing title, by beating Frenchman Petit a year ealier in 1750 in 7 rounds in Harlston, England.
