September 11, 1886 – We all know that the name of a ship named the Mayflower brings a sense of American pride and victory. It was at the 6th America’s Cup where the New York Yacht Club’s Mayflower defeated Galatea the of the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club, Scotland for a 2-0 series victory.
