September 6, 1946 – The All-America Football Conference or perhaps better known as the AAFC, began regular season play as the Cleveland Browns defeated the Miami Seahawks 44-0 before 60,135 at Cleveland’s Municipal Stadium. Paul Brown was well chosen not only in name but by qualifications and results as the head coach of the Browns who ended up winning every title of the AAFC’s existence and then won some NFL titles as well after a 1950 merger.
