Leroy Collins – An NFL Miracle

Leroy Collins is the author of The Running Back: True Story From the Wheelchair to the NFLHis incredible story is something you only see in the movies.  Oh wait, we find out in the interview that it was in the works before COVID-19 hit us.  He believes once the movie can get back on track, we will end up seeing the number one sports movie in America.

In the interview you also hear how we was in a horrible car accident as a young boy, almost losing his life.  Leroy did not let this stop him.  He ended up fighting his way to walking.  Then he fought his way into the New York State High School record books for a running back while attending Hudson High School.

After proving he could handle the rock in High School, Leroy found his way to Louisville to play his college football.  Once again, Leroy worked his way to the top, then he dealt with some challenges.  This is a theme throughout the show.

After his successful college career, Leroy was an undrafted running back with the Washington Redskins.  He was cut in the pre-season and was picked up by the Jacksonville Jaguars.  After struggling to crack the starting lineup, Leroy decided to test the waters in the Canadian Football League.  Finally, his last stop was in the short lived XFL with the Las Vegas Outlaws.
