June 18, 1911 – It was truly sports history in the making! The greatest comeback in all of Major League Baseball history! The Detroit Tigers trailed the Chicago White Sox, 13-1 at Bennett Park, Detroit.
Big rallies in both the eighth and ninth innings allowed the Tigers to claw their way back into the contest and to recover to win it, 16-15. Ty Cobb drove in the final two runs needed for victory with his fifth hit of the day.
